The purpose of the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D300 Digital Camcorder is to provide a very small but powerful digital video camera.

Pros: As digital video cameras go, I would have to call the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR D300 Digital Camcorder the Cadillac — the top of the line of all of the digital video recorders that Panasonic has produced to date. The Panasonic Palmcorder VDR D300 Digital Camcorder is a small digital video camera with a big attitude and it is just loaded with features that you would only expect to find on digital video cameras with a much higher price tag.

One review of the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR D300 Digital Camcorder says, “The handling on the D300 is very good, thanks to the joystick control located on the rear of the body. Manual controls are one of Panasonic’s greatest strengths, and navigating through them with the joystick is a relatively simple procedure. Yes, it might take a few tries before you get the hang of it, but once you do, it’s a powerful tool. Shutter speed (14 increments), aperture in f-stops (14 increments), manual focus, and manual gain (7 steps).”

Cons: The low-light performance was not stellar. While three chips are great for sharpness, they don’t collect any more light than a single 1/6″ chip.

Guarantee: There is a low-price guarantee stated on the website and there is a return policy that states in part, “You have 14 days from the date your product left the warehouse (regardless of when you actually took delivery of the product) to get a valid RMA from our website and get your product to a shipper to return back to us. It does not have to be back in our warehouse within 14 days, but it does have to be in the possession of the shipper (along with the valid RMA). RMAs must be valid, unexpired, and issued for the product being returned. Only one RMA is issued per return. When it expires, you may no longer return your product.”

Value for money: The Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D300 Digital Camcorder is an excellent value at a very reasonable price.
